Standings after Session #1

We all started with 1 Gold and 0 Laurels.

Bob, Adam & Mike Reynolds all celebrated Decisive Victories.
They earned 4 gold & 1 Laurel,
so they all have 5 Gold and 1 Laurel now.

Anne & Mike Haggett had a Draw.
They each earned 3 gold,
so they both have 4 gold and 0 Laurels now.

Joe, Jarrod & I suffered Decisive Defeats.
We earned 2 gold, but lost 1 Laurel,
so we all now have 3 Gold and -1 Laurels.

If you look at the resources chart in your rules, you will see that there are only 3 choices that have no prerequisites other than the Farm that we all started with:

Logging Camp: Cost $ 3, worth 2 Laurels, allows you to recruit your Standard units.

Mine: Cost $ 3, worth 2 Laurels, allows you to recruit your Elite units.

Market: Cost $ 4, worth 3 Laurels, allows you to recruit Core Mercenaries.

(The core Mercs are:
( Wildmen Sword - 142 pts
( Wildmen Archers - 158 pts
( Half-Orc Swordsmen - 216 pts
( Half-Orc Spearmen - 242 pts
( Ogres - 295 pts )

Since we all have between 3 and 5 gold, we can all purchase one Resource.

Think not only about what bonus you want from your resource, but also what prerequisites it fulfills. Notice how the Logging Camp is required for the Barracks, and the Mine is required for the Forge. And, the Market is required for FOUR other purchases, including the Barracks and Forge.

(The Market is actually required for six other resources, but there is no need for us to purchase Embassy or Harbor, as they apply only to the Team campaign game.)

I am announcing now that I'm getting the Mine, so I can purchase elites (like War Elephants!).
