Game-a-thon: this Saturday, January 8th

()

We apologize for getting this Saturday's SWA Game-a-thon scheudule out so late.  We got hit by the double-whammy of the holiday season, and digging out from under our first big snowstorm of Winter.  But we've still managed to put together a nice schedule of good events.

Don't forget, January is a Swap Meet month.  Bring your games to sell or trade.  Bring your left-over Xmas money to buy other people's good stuff.

Morning Session ( 11am - 4pm )

Evening Session ( 5pm - 10pm+ )

We hope to see you there.

Game-a-thon: Saturday, December 11, 2010

Wow, look at all these events!  Fourteen!  That might be a modern Game-a-thon record...
An abundance of gaming goodness to keep you entertained as the weather gets cold and our natural inclination is to stay inside.

Game-a-thon Dates for 2011

()

We've finalized the dates for the 2011 SWA Game-a-thons.  All of these are Saturdays.  Please mark your calendars now!

January 8
February 12
March  12
April 9
May 14
June 11
July 9
August 13
September 17
October 7-9: Council of Five Nations
November 12
December 10

Typically, Game-a-thon is the second Saturday of each month. However, we have to work around scheduling conflicts with the Studio of Bridge and Games.  We also try to not schedule in conflict with other gaming conventions (but it inevitably happens once in a while, despite our best efforts).  If you see a conflict we should know about, please email us at gameathon /at/ swa-gaming.org and let us know.

We'll be updating the Game-a-thon pages on the SWA web site soon (click here).  Check in for full info on each event as it becomes available.

We hope to see you at many SWA gaming events in 2011.

Game-a-thon: Saturday, November 13, 2010

()

Last month's Council has given us an infusion of new GM blood (pun intended, more on that in a bit).  We've got a bunch of events this month that are new to the SWA Game-a-thons.

You will see Pathfinder RPG games in both time slots.  We are hoping this becomes a regular, monthly offering.

You will also notice we've got Vampire: The Eternal Struggle card game.  This is very popular around the country, with many large tournaments, and we're happy to have it as a new offering this month.

Of course, not everything is new.  We've got Axis & Allies, and Through the Ages, which are long-time SWA favorites.

The full schedule:

Morning Session ( 11am - 4pm )
Evening Session ( 5pm - 10pm+ )

Game-a-thon: Saturday, September 11th, 2010

()

We're in full Council-preparation mode, but still we find time to organize a nice lineup of games for the September Game-a-thon.  Amazing!

And special thanks to all the GMs listed below.  Every single one of them is not only running a game for us this month, but they're also GMing various games at Council of Five Nations (coming next month, October 8-10).

We expect the Council event schedule to be posted on Monday, September 6th (Labor Day).  Watch your email box for the latest updates.  Or, you can also go to the main Council of Five Nations information page here:

Here's the September 11th Game-a-thon schedule to tide you over until then...

Game-a-thon: SUNDAY, August 22, 2010

()

IMPORTANT REMINDER - Due to a schedule conflict at the Studio, this month's SWA Game-a-thon is on SUNDAY, August 22nd.  Please don't show up on Saturday!

Even with these circumstances, we've managed to pull together a pretty full schedule of events:

Morning Session ( 11am - 4pm )

Evening Session ( 5pm - 10pm+ )

August Game-a-thon: RESCHEDULED

()

Important News!

Due to a scheduling conflict, we need to move the August Game-a-thon (originally scheduled for Saturday the 14th).

The new date is SUNDAY, August 22nd.

Yes, we know a Sunday is not ideal.  It is the least-worst of our options.  We fully expect to have fewer games in the 5pm-10pm time slot.  That's OK, as you should all be saving your energy up for Council of Five Nations, which is coming pretty soon (October 8-10).

We're looking for GMs, as usual.  If you'd like to run a game, please let us know about it using this online form:
http://www.swa-gaming.org/GameathonEventRegistration

Or, you can request a game to be run here:
http://www.swa-gaming.org/GameathonSuggestion

Please sign up by August 7th or sooner. That way we can get the word out in plenty of time for the Thon.

Thank you for your patience, flexibility, understanding and support.
