In Memoriam - Mike Rogozinski

()

We are very sorry to announce that the SWA has lost another one of it's Planning Team Officers, Michael L. Rogozinski.

Mike
Rogozinski - RIPMike was involved with the SWA for many years, both as a GM and Council volunteer.  Many of you, especially you war gamers, have probably shared a gaming table with him.  Here's a photo of him at a recent Council playing Twilight Struggle (he's the on one the left in the orange Staff shirt).

You can read Mike's full obituary here:  http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/dailygazette/obituary.aspx?page=lifestory&pid=186696652

The Memorial Mass will be this Thursday, September 21st
10:00 AM, at St Gabriel's Church
3040 Hamburg Street, Schenectady NY.

Mike was only 54 years old.  This is two SWA members in their 50s that we've lost in the past year.

Please take care of yourselves.

In Memoriam: Tom Wargo

()

We are very sad to announce that the SWA community has lost a treasured member - Thomas N. Wargo.

Tom Wargo - Council GMTom has been gaming with us and running events at Council of Five Nations for several years now. He selflessly volunteered not only to GM, but to help with less glamorous tasks like working the registration desk.  Since we are always looking for good people to help us serve the gaming community, we recently offered him the title of Wargames Czar, and he graciously accepted.  His wife Terry tells us that he felt honored to be an SWA officer.

Here is a photo of Tom running Sea Power at the most recent Council.  He is the guy in the yellow Council GM t-shirt.

You can read Tom's full obituary notice on the web site of the Mereness Putnam Funeral Home:

Services will be this coming Tuesday, January 3rd.

Visitation will be from 10:30 AM  - 12:00 Noon.
Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 Noon.

These will both be held at Our Lady of the Valley Parish, in Middleburgh, New York.
Full information is available at the obituary link above.

Rest in Peace.
