I also don't really like the legacy concept. But if the end-game result can be played repeatedly then I wouldn't mind. I'm not sure if this is the case for Centauri Saga: Season 1 as it says As soon as you finish the Legacy Campaign, you will gain access to two scenarios that you can play over and over again, which will also use the hidden "stuff" that you will unlock during the Legacy Campaign. So, each Legacy Season will always extend and add to your core game!

Can the designer provide a bit more information on this issue?

Yes that brokie should be DM'd.
[q=3.2.1 last paragraph]A broken unit not under DM that becomes adjacent to a Known enemy unit (or ...) is placed under DM
Though it isn't explicitly stated, the moment the enemy passes by adjacent to the broken unit, they acquire DM counter. This is for heightened heart-rate and epinephrine. The pertinent rule in ASL is A7.8. This was part of an excellent Unofficial Errata (actually a Clarification) made by Daniel F. Savarese.

I've just completed a run-through of the first 2 Caesar: Conquest of Gaul scenarios using the new, and dare I say, improved Simple GBoH. This rule set mirrors the original game in its philosophy toward cohesion hits. The old Simple GBoH penalized units for accumulated cohesion hits, whereas GBoH has always allowed units to operate at full strength until hits reached rout level. The new alignment in rule sets creates a subtle difference in play, and certainly eases the monotony of constant peeking under counters to check accumulated hits. I found myself looking anyway, as old habits die hard.

One thing that never changes: Caesar kicks ass. There is no stopping the Romans in their conquests, and the Helvetii and the tribes of Ariovistus are just speed bumps along the way. Perhaps the Belgians will have better luck at The Battle of the Sabis...

Moving to Minneapolis in a few weeks -- excited for a more active gaming culture than here in LA. It looks like the FFG game center has me covered for my LotR and Arkham Horror LCGs, but I'd appreciate any recommendations on where to go to break into the scene (not to sound lazy, but through a 700 page thread is just too much!). My new place seems to be equidistant from both Tower Games and Dreamers Vault -- what are your thoughts on these stores? I'm down to play anything really, from learning more about wargaming to euros to RPGs. Thanks for any info you can provide!

This is a great place to start. :)
